As we dive head first into the final couple of weeks leading into the MidPoint Music Festival (in case you haven't noticed, that's mostly what we''ll be talking about on here the next several weeks), I wanted to give some props to local blogger Nate Rosing, who has built an excellent Web site dedicated to MidPoint. Check out Nate's 2008 MidPoint Music Festival Guide here.
Nate represents what MidPoint (and CityBeat, for that matter) is all about — a pure passion for discovering new music. He's not on the MPMF payroll and we swear he's not a "plant," someone we nudged to help us promote our event with promises of an endless supply of MPMF fridge magnets in return. Nate just loves music (it's obvious in his writing) and has loved his past experiences at the festival so much, he wants to spread the word.
The site features links to all the performers' Web sites, Nate's picks for who to see at the fest and interviews with some of the performers (his first, with local singer/songwriter Ryan Adcock, can be found here). Nate also has a groovy "countdown" clock — as of this writing, it's only 13 days, six hours and 51 seconds away!
Thanks to Nate! My only concern is that, if Nate has a stalker, he/she is going to be able to track Nate through the streets of Downtown pretty easily — at least from Sept. 25-27. Be careful!

My brother Nate is a great guy who is more passionate about music than anyone I know. I look forward to checking the blog out on a daily basis.
Thanks for putting together a great lineup CityBeat and thanks for keeping such close tabs on the fest Nate.
