No, it's not a place to get rid of your yard, but Hamilton County does offer a few locations for you to dump leaves, tree branches, grass clippings and other biodegradable stuff. Those locations will close up shop for the season this Sunday, Nov. 25.
So if you want to avoid composting in your back yard, this is your last chance to let the county to do it for you until next spring:
East Site: Turpin Farm, 3295 Turpin Lane (off State Rt. 32) in Anderson Township
West Site: Kuliga Park, 6717 Bridgetown Road in Green Township
North Site: Rumpke Sanitary Landfill, Strubble Road and Colerain Avenue in Colerain Township
The yard waste recycling drop-off sites will be open this weekend from 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
OK, it's not THE very LAST day...
Mark your calendars for dropping off Christmas trees, evergreen branches and other holiday nonsense at the same locations from 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5, and Saturday, Jan. 12.
Have fun greening Cincinnati!
