Fact #46 is Bullshit

Camel_lights I'm a smoker and I smoke Camel Lights. They have a redesigned pack (I like the one old better) that has a promotional whatever slipped into the back of the pack - something called "boost your blend I.Q. about Camels."

Here's fact #46. . .

"A big factor in how tobacco tastes is what part of the stalk it comes from. We use leaves from the top, middle and bottom of the plant for the best-tasting Camels possible."

Hey RJ Reynolds, I grew up on a farm! A tobacco farm! Your fact #46 is bullshit!!

Down on the farm, when you're "stripping" tobacco (pulling the leaves from the stalk), here's how it goes. . .

The leaves at the top of the plant are called the "tips."

The leaves on the middle of the stalk is called just that - the middle.

The leaves at the bottom of the plant is called "trash," leaves that don't get a high price when you're selling it at the market.

You guys are using the whole plant just like the rest of the tobacco companies are. Give me a break.

How about a little truth in advertising?

Why would anyone trust a tobacco company?

Here's a thought: stop smoking.

keep in mind that it's important to smoke a high quality cigarette before you die of cancer.

Your quote from the pack and your response shows how dumb you really are because you're both saying the same thing. They are just saying it in a catchy good sounding way. I also grew up on a tobacco farm that my grandparents owned. The tobacco company buys the entire plant, stalk and all. Yes,they use all the leaves for the blend because why would you buy an enitre plant and not use the bottom and waste money. The stalk is another story. Re-read what you want to post before clicking submit.

Camel's little promotion is deceiving. They want the uneducated person on tobacco to think they are using select leaves from the stalk. What's so "dumb" about Gross pointing that out?

You know what's dumb? Yet another post about cigarettes.

What they don't tell you is all the additives that are blended in, some of which are really not cool ingredients.
